Merry Christmas, guys! Thanks for the shirt. I got a recipe book with 500 cupcakes in it for Christmas, so I’ll have to try some out on you.

Miss Bliss on December 24th, 2008 at 8:12 am

Looking forward to them Miss Bliss. Enjoy the game tonight and have a Merry Christmas.

Eric on December 24th, 2008 at 9:05 am

Guys…I will buy $300.00 of Michigan crap and burn it and you don’t have to pay me a dime. Sprout, you were kind of a big deal in college? Was your dorm room finished in rich mahogany and smelled of leather bound books? Also, are those Guinness slippers? You sir are Irish to the core. Stay classy Subway Alumni and let’s hope for the best gift of all….a bowl win.

    Eric & Sprout:

From all of us at Pole 13, Merry Christmas and we’ll see you at the UConn Game! Thanks for including us in the Coaches Poll.

Thanks for the helmet and protective gear. I’ll be needing that for the UW-ND game next year. I couldn’t wait till half time to watch the game. Merry Christmas, great show.

Am I seeing things or are there names on the Irish jerseys?

hondo on December 24th, 2008 at 6:11 pm

Wow…didn’t even catch the names till just now. Interesting.

Ok…we’re up 14-0. I say we score one more time before the half and Charlie does his normal “Start shutting her down” routine and runs the ball……which means Hawaii comes back and beats us in the second half.

Right about now, Charlie needs to have Steve Spurrier’s number on speed dial and ask him what to do. (Run up the score Charlie….that’s how you survive.)

Clutch on December 24th, 2008 at 6:54 pm

Is Andre Ware that high? Tate scores the 3rd TD and Ware says we’re watching JC grow up.

    Dude…it’s Hawaii.

Clutch on December 24th, 2008 at 7:10 pm

:01 left in the half. 27-7. Time for that speed dial Charlie.

My wife just cracked a bottle of champagne. I guess I’ll have to pull her aside and explain that there IS another half to play.

What a great Xmas present….30mins. of GREAT Irish football.

Santa….can I upgrade that to a full game please?

Clutch on December 24th, 2008 at 7:28 pm

Pinch me. 42-7? Can this be real?

hondo on December 24th, 2008 at 8:15 pm

Twist my nipple and kick me in the nutts. 49-14, a kick off return, a punt return (called back though) and all before the 4th quarter? I’ve drank too much beer, but this may just be better than a wet dream.

New Flash: Charlie told Steve Spurrier Merry Christmas at halftime.

Clutch on December 24th, 2008 at 8:40 pm

    Ahh…I’m drunk…and talking ND football.

This is the way we should’ve handled Pitt, NC, Navy BC and Syracuse. This is so great. I’m drinking as well….Carlsbergs and thought I was really pounding them until I realized they’re only 11.2 oz. I’m never gonna be up with those kids in the a.m. Don’t care right now though.

hondo on December 24th, 2008 at 9:05 pm

Hey guys, I’ve got a better idea… post us your address and I’ll go to Goodwill and buy a Michigan hat or shirt and send it to you for your wilderness show. If we all send you something purchased from Goodwill (which is where all Michigan stuff is found anyway) you’ll have your story that tops the crappy eBay story and it won’t cost you 300 bucks – which is a lot of beer money where I come from (unlike your friend with the swanky fireplace)

Paddy O' Furniture on December 25th, 2008 at 12:07 am

Guess Swarbrick will not need the phone and Charlie can certainly identify a good game. Keep trying, guys. Sooner or later you may guess correctly.

Jerry on December 25th, 2008 at 2:12 pm

@Jerry The win is great for everyone and we couldn’t be happier, but let’s not forget Charlie couldn’t identify a good game against North Carolina, Syracuse or Pitt.

Sprout on December 25th, 2008 at 2:33 pm

    So here’s a question…

…how much of this was a function of Weis being in the pressbox, seeing the entire field? How much of it was because this was against Hawaii? And finally, how much of it was from the painkillers Weis was likely taking?

Okay, so that’s three questions. Eh, why not one more…

If I order a shirt, can you guys dig up a Sharpie and autograph it before you ship it out?

I feel a Hell of a lot lighter with this 14-year monkey off my back.

My wife got a large dessert stand from her step-father, and this thing holds an amazing 38 cupcakes. You should get one of these things (maybe I’ll send you this one) and fill it w/ Miss Bliss cupcakes.

The 38 will be the standard by which we play. Eat a cupcake per point. If the 38 are off the stand, then the Irish will likely win and all of the cupcake-y goodness will help soak up gobs and gobs of beer.
