Episode 50

Data, data, data…

That’s all everyone wants to talk about. Data. This coach did this. This coach can’t do that. Give us a break. You don’t know shit until they prove it on the field.

Sean and Rory Kelly’s dad was Brian Kelly. This entire era is going to screw with my head. I am solely going to call him the BK Broiler from here on out to avoid personal confusion.

It literally took me 5 minutes before realizing that Brian Kelly isn’t actually Sean and Rory’s dad. A time period during which I would have had no problem claiming we’d win a NC within 3 years. My morning haze wore off and I realized you meant to say their “dad was NAMED Brian Kelly”. My bad.

Sprout on December 16th, 2009 at 5:51 am

Wow, you should have called me during those 5 minutes. I was still asleep, it would have been an amazing conversation.

Guys, come on.. Natural Light? I mean seriously. You went from drinking very good brew to… swill. I like watching your show, but this regression brings me back to my college fraternity days. I know times are tough w/the state of N.D., but don’t compromise your good health w/bottom of the barrel beer. See you next season and GO IRISH!

Hey Sprout…I believe the term is “Sheet the Bed” a play on words. Might save you some ‘bleep’ editing time if you are careful to pronounce it clearly…(wink). Love your show. Wife and I met you both at the USC game this year. Hope you’re sincere about a show ‘now and then’ in the off season. I get tired of reading posts about ND football. I’d rather sit back and watch your show anytime. Keep up the good work guys. It’s a good show that many of us look forward to. “Go Irish”…”Go Kelly’s Heroes” !!!

Already missing you guys . . . thanks for a great season of shows! Merry Christmas, Cheers to the New Year & GO IRISH!

Listening to Kelly since the hire and knowing him from the Grand Valley and Central days have convinced me that we now have the right person. Drive, Passion and Belief will put ND back where it belongs. Expect great things from this guy. He can get people to play for him. Merry Christmas and one hell of a 2010. RKB to you guys, here’s hoping Santa leaves you a case of Natty Light Longnecks.

Harbaugh coached at University of San Diego, a small Catholic college rather than the state U SDSU which had a more 5-25 record.

Jim Holmberg on December 16th, 2009 at 5:01 pm

Yup. Harbaugh was at the University of San Diego (1-AA non-scholarship) for 3 years. Not SDSU. His last year there, we wanted to have an “unofficial” scrimmage between our football team and SDSU’s (Mountain West) because the Aztecs were THAT bad in 2006 and Harbaugh was doing well building the Toreros. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joan_B._Kroc. Check the Philanthropy section in the bio. USD and ND have something in common. Anyways, I’m being boring. And Harbaugh is a drunk. Merry Christmas!!

Hey guys – How about a weekly show on ND Basketball. I never see them on TV so little is known about Mike Brey and Friends. Do you think they have a realistic chance of winning the BIG EAST this year.

ron on December 16th, 2009 at 8:34 pm

Great season guys! I live in the middle of Bearcat Nation…so, the past couple of weeks have been interesting. However, funny how I heard nothing from UC fans regarding the new signing of Butch Jones from CMU and how he was “stolen” before the bowl game and may not even coach said game. Pretty quiet here in the Natty…Weird! Keep up the good work guys…I did enjoy last years’ Louisville basketball episode…and the ’salad days’ episode was great. Have a good Christmas…and f the guys up north!!!

Hey guys – I always enjoy the show & look forward to your return. I’m a little concerned, though, that on today’s poll you misspelled Parseghian. Ouch. I think you owe us 20 push-ups or something.
    Anyway, happy holidays!

TedP on December 17th, 2009 at 9:35 am

Haha…yeah I noticed that while editing the show. Was hoping it would slip through the cracks.

Sprout on December 17th, 2009 at 9:41 am

Sorry, but you were spotted. I count on you guys for a suitably creative (and public) act of contrition.

TedP on December 17th, 2009 at 7:38 pm

Thanks for a great season of shows. Congrats on your 50th epi. I think I’ve seen them all. Sprout, take care of that stink eye and what is that, a bar code tat on your L forearm?

JerseyShoreNDFan on December 18th, 2009 at 10:38 am

Guys — Enjoyed the show from Taiwan. Congrats on 50 and hope to watch many more. Go Irish.
