Episode 44

Memory Lane

Just like the Irish playing a home game in Texas, we’re doing things a little different this week by filming at the Horseshoe Casino. We were given the opportunity to support Regis Philbin’s “Walk Down Memory Lane,” an event benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association…so we’re taking our own walk down memory lane.

Folks, I know this episode is a little departure from our regularly scheduled programming, but it’s for a good cause. Please take a look at the following link and if you are able to support the Alzheimer’s Association, that would be fantastic. http://www.thesubwayalumnishow.com/AlzInvite2009.pdf (link opens a pdf)

How did you leave out the 44’s of Marc Edwards and Jim Flanigan… let alone the greatest 44 of them all Luke Harangody.

Brilliantly done, guys. I’ve been a lurking fan for sometime now and I’m always anxious for the new episode to come out. I really enjoyed the never before seen footage.

I just realized how sick my addiction is for Notre Dame football, as I can’t wait to watch a game analysis from some other random guys on the internet with a sick addiction to Notre Dame football.

Keep up the good work, Go Irish, and Muck Fichigan.

Great show guys! Ive been hooked since i discovered you two goofs. Just wish I didn’t have to wait until Wednesday to watch the new episodes.

Just found out I will be at the UConn game, you two plan to be there?

Loved the “Walk Down Memory Lane” episode! It caught us up on some great highlights of the show. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to watch you all much while we were in Italy. The internet connection was pretty weak over there. Wine strong. Internet connection weak. Our favorite is still the 40-yard ball pass to oneself. I think that was the first episode we watched. Nice one, Michael! Looking forward to the next 44 shows!

Hey, love the show any chance you guys are headed to Pitt for the game?

Steve on November 4th, 2009 at 1:27 pm

Sorry all, we won’t be at the UConn or Pitt game. I’m running the Philly Marathon the weekend of the UConn game, so that one is out for sure. And as long time citizens of Cleveland, we have a very adverse opinion on Pittsburgh in general and have vowed to never step foot in its city limits.

Thanks again guys for feeding my sick addiction to ND football. The amazing race is stupid for not giving you guys a call back.

    Cheers from the far north.

    Yellow

That’s all I have to say about the first 4 mins…pure Yellowvision.

What’s up the Casino naming convention. Is it owned by an OSU grad? “The” Venue…”The” Bar…..”The” Ohio State University?

@Eric..Stella. Nice. By the way…I have yet to see an appearance of the gift I gave you. What happened to you stabbing into the table? I’ve still got Mannix’s, but it’s getting delivered this week. His looks like something Rambo used when he was 6….only with a Leprechaun…laser etched in the blade. Ok..that was a reach.

Good show….and great Amazing Race footage!!!

HUH? Last show you guys were toying w/ format – mission accomplished. Dont do that sh%&*)$$##t again. Not funny not innovative, comma, not nothing. You’re killing me! Nothing about Weis’ meltdown in the 3rd quarter? You guys are taking to heart the glib to mix things up? Yeah you’re on it all right like Lindsay Lohan on a mixed drink. I think you lost me as a viewer. Of course I have only been tuning in for 6 episodes but not cool at all.

    Eaaaasy there, Rock.

This week had nothing to do with what we were talking about last week. We had the opportunity to raise awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association (something that is very personal to us) and given that we had just played the 4th worse team in college football we found this the perfect opportunity. I mean, how much of an analysis can one give for a game that looked like a scrimmage?

We’ll be back at it next week. We hope you tune it.

Nice show, guys. It’s almost like you two are growing just like Jimmy Clausen has over the last 3 years. And I’m totally serious about that…seriously.
If you did actually send that in to the Amazing Race and they didn’t take you…I must say I’m a little upset. I like watching that show almost as half as much as yours and what could be better than seeing the Subway Alumni Show 2x a week? Probably have a Michigan or USC alum sorting through the audition tapes. Or, maybe they didn’t take you guys because (I gotta be careful here so I don’t get suspended like that big, muscular, thooper intolerant meanie on the Chiefs) you guys aren’t…um…interested in…um…the Notre Dame football team as “more than” friends.

    2 Serious questions though:
How much did you guys have to pay Coach Powlus step in for Sprout during that what about Bob segment?
What did you guys think about the Rocket’s speech at the Pep Rally before the SC game?
Keep up the good work! Go ND!

Kevin on November 5th, 2009 at 8:12 pm

you could also tribute Jim Flannigan…….you think??

Rob on November 6th, 2009 at 10:19 am

Marc Edward’s wore #44 as well. I think if they beat a solid Pittsburgh team next week on the road should warrant a BCS birth, and then the defense will get beat like they stole something against a top #5 team.

Rob on November 6th, 2009 at 10:43 am

Just watched #44, that was off the charts guys. The whole brother thing just brought a tear to my eye. Reminds me of my older brother and myself, except that he is a Michigan Fan so F&@# him. Best episode ever even sans ND Football talk. Just remember us little people when you hit the big time. Go Irish beat the much admired Midshipmen. And always remember my favorite T-Shirt “Ann Arbor is a Whore”.

    K-zoo Ron on November 6th, 2009 at 10:50 am

Wow that was hard to watch. What happened, you guys run out of good topics? And that casino….I thought Atlantic City was lame. Do they ever get any A list entertainment there? Hey, I love Reg as much as the next heterosexual, I mean he’s a domer and a devout fan and all, but let’s face it, his show panders to fat stupid house frau’s. You can do better….I’ve seen it. What about the game? Everybody thinks Navy is gonna be a pushover…maybe not.

JerseyShoreNDFan on November 6th, 2009 at 8:19 pm

Charlie Weis did not fumble on the first possession, Charlie did not fumble on the one yard line, Charlie did not miss two field goals, Charlie did not throw the pass that hit Floyd in the back, Charlie wasn’t knocked down by the Navy blockers. The guys on the field need to take responsibility for that. Charlie always does a great job.Charlie is the guy that gives this team a chance to win every week. He does need to look for a defensive genius, that group needs a genius to hide all their weaknesses as football players. We are two recruitng classes away from a tough defense. Thanks to all of you understand football.
