@the hollisterman: I would love to see what sort of halftime speeches are given. I watched a video of Tebow's halftime speech of the NC game on ESPN's Page 2. I can't stand him but I'm pretty sure I would've played my heart out for him for those next 30 minutes.

@House of Rockne: Glad to see Erie PA represented! We got a family cottage outside of Edinboro, love that area. And you're right it was Olsen who said that, I don't know how I feel about those comments, how can they not get focused for such a huge rivalry game with giant expectations?

@christian: Yeah I was hurting a little bit to say the least. SC pulling it out over OSU was painful to watch but I'm okay with it because it'll all be worth it on October 17.

Another great show guys. I agree with everything you said regarding the defense. You have to have guys back there to stop the run. Start Teo! The third quarter needs to be ironed out. They need to score every time the offense has the ball. Period. Beat the Spartans! Go Irish!

Eric what's up? You look blitzed brah? but you should what a wretched way to lose a game to the hated ones. You guys called it CW screwed up the end of the game by not running the clock out. Game control overall sucks...the reffing is understood to be biased so what the bleep is CW doing? Defensively I don't understand why we couldn't blitz one or two guys while playing man coverage otherwise. It's great to apply pressure but our guys man for man beat their guys all day long. I think over all the Irish looked great in a loss that should't have happened. The only player you left out on the board was Kyle who had a great game and he is just as dominate as Tate and Floyd. Ps. I got so pissed after the game that on Sunday I thought Ohio State had won the game. My first thoughts were 'maybe we lost but so did SC!' Living in SoCAl SUCKS!!!!

Eric and Sprout - Great show! Terrific insight that for the most part rehashed a lot of the elements of the game me and the boys in Erie Pa talked about after the game. It is good to know there are like minded fans out there! What is most disheartening is the reoccurring themes that seem to be playing out w/ the Irish - a lot of which you guys touched on - special teams, time management and I think it was Olsen who commented that once more ND was not prepared for the speed of the game. These are all elements that get traced back directly to coaching. It's one thing if they learn and move on but it is beginning to show a lack of clear direction, focus and discipline. Great show however - I look forward to the post every week! GO IRISH!

My brothers, I absolutely love your show, it's definitely real and one definitely domers world wide relate too. I think you guys nailed on the head, we just don't come out at halftime with any sort of urgency or killer instant. We need to play all 4 qtrs. .. I mean hell, if you need to bring in Lou at the half then do it, his speeches inspire, obviously Charlie isn't getting it done. Heck, call Rudy or something, have him throw on a 'uni' in front of the guys, I bet even today he'd make a go of it ;) Keep doing what you are doing lads, you have got the stuff!

@NCDomer: You bring up a great point, everyone always jumps on them when we can't move the ball and now that Clausen has time they lose all the credit. Never having played football I'm going to go out on the limb here say that as O-Linemen they expect that. They're digging the trenches every play and want to keep it that way. I watched excerpts from the Captains press conference the other day and Olsen in true linemen fashion, took credit for a lot of the penalties on offense and than deferred all credit to Jimmy and his receivers for the offensive outbursts. But I see your point and it's a good one. All the credit will in time go to the O-Line if they continue to put up the offensive numbers.

@Erick: Glad you found the show, hope you comeback. I agree with you that the play was there on the QB sneak but what I don't understand is why move completely away from our bread and butter? especially against a weak, undersized secondary. I understand that if he scores easily a lot of people are marching to a different tune, but I still would question the call. Jimmy isn't a running QB. Period. He will never be known for his blazing speed. That play call at that stage of the game doesn't make much sense to me, that's why I thought it was ridiculous. We had only barely begun to test their secondary, which we proved throughout the game was no match for our receivers, no reason to not continue to do so.

First show I watched. It was decent. I thought some thoughts were a bit off. Everyone dumps on the QB draw but if you watch the play, the play was there. Graham just made a play. As for the last plays, he played to win and Allen was out. Hughes couldn't threaten the edge and Jonas was in the doghouse. Your logic is right. If you trusted a freshmen on a route, you should have handed it off. My other thought was that maybe they could have lined up Tate in the backfield and let the exHB run.
Kicking... first kick ever for a kid. Give him a break. He gets a pass in my book. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

For the most part, I was happy with the playing from Weis. More offense in the big house than like any other Irish team in recent history. If Weis is in charge of scoring points, I am fine with his performance. I know it was still a loss but offensively they were pretty good.

@Sprout - Obviously I let the emotions from Saturday still get the better of me. Yes, I feel we can still have a successful season. Obviously we have not been in the title talk for 20 years. Beating MSU and USC in the same year would be a start towards that goal. I do feel true success is the title. I live in Ohio.. and whenever the fuckeyes lose, fans say " The Big 10 Championship is what means the most to us". Total b.s. Everyone wants the title.. and second place is remembered about as much as 10th. A one loss season would be success for us after years of mediocracy, but that shouldn't change our mind of what true success is measured by in College Football. A playoff season, and fair officiating would make this entire week much easier to deal with.

Gracious! The o-line doesnt make the top 5 gooders from this week? Come on show the love! Last year and before no one could even wait a second to kick them in the nuts. Credit belongs where credit is due and the offensive performance starts with the o-line.
