It’s the mustachio bashio this week on the show. To honor his bets, Sprout shaved off the beard and the Loyal Sons analyze some of the best mustaches to ever grace Notre Dame.

if you learn anything from dr, the stache is something to be proud of.

Thanks guys, I needed a good laugh today. Keep up the good work! The Weis and Montana pictures are classics.

Yikes…..Please tell me your beard is going to grow back before you get off the plane in VT next week.

Gallagher on February 18th, 2009 at 3:22 pm

Don’t worry…most of it will be back by then.

Sprout on February 18th, 2009 at 3:47 pm

I was ready to cry when you said Steve Bartman is an ND grad. WTF dude seriously WTF?

Ben on February 18th, 2009 at 4:04 pm

With a name like Sprout and a “stache” like that, I could definately see you as a co-star with Dirk Diggler and Chest Rockwell. Maybe a cameo with John Holmes in Wonderland.

Laphonso Ellis is doing the color commentary with Jack Nolan on the radio, but he too had a sweet ’stache in his playing days.

    You damn Indians fans.

Next time I run into you guys, remind me to tell you my George Wendt/ND vs. Miami/The Linebacker story.

Zimbler was a resident of Morrisey. During his first two years at ND, everyone asked him about Melissa Joan Hart. After getting sick and tired of the questions, he grew the rollie fingers handlebars, to go incognito!

Troy on February 19th, 2009 at 8:05 am

@Troy: The thought of Zimbler with rollie finger handlebars is brilliant, I’m sure he also grew them hoping that Melissa Joan Hart dug creepy ’staches.

@Clutch: My mind is running wild right now with how that story is going to end. I can’t imagine George Wendt at the ‘backer.

Eric on February 19th, 2009 at 9:09 am

    Eric,

MJH, for those who were privledged to grace her presence, dug the bravado of the young lad and his classic stache.

Everyone in The Manor rocked Tom Selleck for the winter months of 1996! Phew, the good ol’ days.

Troy on February 19th, 2009 at 2:42 pm

I meant rocked the Tom Selleck stache. The above to come out right, YIKES! I’m starting to sound like Sprout.

Troy on February 19th, 2009 at 2:45 pm

Great stuff. How could you leave Kelly Tripucka off this list? He had a great stache.

Joe on February 19th, 2009 at 3:06 pm

You raise an amazing point Joe. Here’s Kelly: http://www.lacoctelera.com/myfiles/quefuede/kelly-utah.jpg

Sprout on February 19th, 2009 at 3:16 pm

Wow that is a ’stache on Tripucka, nicely complemented by the Utah Jazz uniform. Nice find Sprout.

Also @Troy, I actually read your first comment and completely didn’t notice you forgot “stache”. Not sure if that’s a good thing or not, but if you have to model your mustache off someone Tom Selleck is probably the best out there.

Eric on February 19th, 2009 at 4:00 pm

While Sprout and Eric get a free ride at Magic Hat this weekend, any Michigan or Northern Indiana fans should head up to the Michigan Winter Beer Festival this Saturday (Feb. 28th) in Grand Rapids, MI.

I’ll be there….I’ll prob. be the only one wearing an ND hat.

While Sprout and Eric are off on their free ride to Magic Hat, I’ll be at the Michigan Winter Beer Festival in Grand Rapids, MI.

If anyone’s interested in the Michigan/Indiana/Illinois area, head on up, it should be a good time.
