In the confusion of this week, we had a mixup with Baldwin Landing and announced that the winner of the contest will be getting BC tickets next year instead of the (no) Bowl Game. Clearly, BC is an away game. The winner should be expecting a call sometime soon and they’ll work with you on selecting a home game that works for you. Cheers.

Wow. The metaphors in this episode were terrifying. As soon as you said the Natty was a metaphor, I was expecting some Great Gatsby/River Runs Through It style metaphors (since I know those are the only two books with metaphors Sprout has read since graduating high school).

Well done on the Cold Activated Can as Chris Peterson, but I’m throwing a flag on using Requiem for a Dream and then talking about Charlie Weis. THAT is some unhappy imagery.

    Natty Light? No. Natty Bo.

Wait. Hire Paul Johnson. Let “Super” Tate run the
spread triple option. Would that not be
the greatest show on earth. Talk to me.

If we do end up landing BK I hope he packs more of a Natty Ice type of punch.

What I hope happens with Clausen is that gets to hold a clipboard for a few years like Aaron Rodgers. Kiper’s hair pointed that out last year. He made a point to say that QB’s weren’t fed to the fire back then like they are now, and holding a clipboard behind a veteran gives them a chance to learn the system. Look at what holding a clipboard for a year did for Vince Young. In the end these kids are barely 22 years old.

When are you guys going to drink Hi-Life??

OMG! TW ahead of Davie and Weis. First, I’ll admit it doesn’t matter. But at least CW left the program achieved some things. Most of all, he proved that ND can recruit the best. Maybe just as important, he “got” ND. He was a tireless worker and gave it his all … admittedly, not good enough. But to put, I’m golfing so I can’t recruit guy ahead of TW is shameful. It “shocks the conscience.” Personally, TW is at the bottom of my list. Just look at what he did at UW to confirm the judgment. No recruiting and no results. But, they looked real good in practice. LOL!

Good season of shows boys. Highly entertaining and informative, except for that one after Sprout’s marathon. I needed my SA fix that week and your show was I think 1:11 or some such. Still funny though. How can you guys drink that Natty Light at 4:30 on a Tuesday afternoon? That’s the stuff you drink only when the good beer runs out (or you’re in college) isn’t it?

Guys – Thank you for your season of Great shows! I found your website by accident & have been a faithful Wednesday viewer ever since. I’m not a beer drinker . . . but, you now have me looking @ all the different types of beer for sale at my local grocery stores in California. Jack & Coke helped me & my family get through the Saturday losses! Here’s to our new coach & a winning 2010 season! GO IRISH!

    Bud Light> Miller Lite> Busch Light> Coors Light> Natural Light> Beast Light> 30 Stones

Thanks for the laughs guys! Go Irish!

    30 pack on December 9th, 2009 at 3:10 pm

I might have to argue with your logic there, 30 pack.

A suitcase of Busch Light is clearly the Rockne of the cheap beer and belongs at the top. A good rule of thumb is if it has mountains on the can it’s intrinsically better than any others.

Fantastic show again. Always enjoy it. I can’t even look at Natual light without getting a hangover. Don’t do that to me again. Anyway here we are with still no coach. Hopefully by next show we can celebrate or bitch about whoever they choose. Go Irish!

GOOD LUCK KELLY!!!!!! cant wait till the press conference today and hear what this guy has to say….GO COACH GO IRISH

For the sake of all Notre Dame fans, I hope Coach Kelly is a 30 pack of High Life. He may not be as sure of a thing as Busch Light, but he could very well end up as the champagne of coaches.

Good show. Good to see positive publicity for ND with the Brian Kelly hire. Weis is all but forgotten, but I still want to see Charlie Jr. during thehalf time show.

Going out to get some European BEER. That ranks low on the list of Rockne beers. Bud Lite, Miller Lite fall into the flavored water (picnic beer)category. The cases, however, fit well in the back of golf cards and up here at Michigan State can be carried on the shoulder by students like a fashion accessory.

ron on December 12th, 2009 at 5:39 am

I was calling for the hire of Brian Kelly for a long time since he’s well known up here in Michigan (Canada’s Alabama).I got scared however when Edsel Ford, Boom Boom Jones, Peter Piper, past Lions coaches and all those NFL retreads started to be mentioned. I think it scared everyone else, so Kelly became the not too bad pick.

I think ND will now get the team that we all want. Get rid of the Pillsbury Dough Boy and Marshmellow Image brought in by Charlie and get a team that has some fight and spirit in them. No more letdowns at the end of the game and no more “What the h— just happened”.

ron on December 12th, 2009 at 5:49 am

Ok we have our coach for the next 20 years…so for those who are not able to attend all the home games and are subject to the ramblings of Pat Hayden on game day… I just began an email campaign to Dick Ebersol to get someone like Joe Theisman in the booth. I don’t understand why we in God’s name we are subject to Hayden…what is NBC thinking… here is then email address. I sent mine ATTN: Dick Ebersol

I know this is a football website, but I was just on another site and there was a blog calling for Mike Brey to be fired. Why? He looks great in a suit.

On basketball, did you ever know there were so schools that ND plays preseason that I never heard of.

ron on December 13th, 2009 at 5:22 pm

so my friend txted me the other day mocking me that my season was over and i should focus on college basketball since we are not goin to a bowl….i then politely reminded him national signing day is in feb then spring ball not to mention all the recruiting between now and feb then Crist getting healthy and leading this team to a great season next year….I am SOO excited for kelly shocking this team…these players wanna be here and they wanna be lead and kelly is stoked to lead them…i’m 26 and dont remember the 88′ team winning it all but i think this will be the most motivated team i have seen at ND….GO IRISH lead us to VICTORY
