I am not sure if anyone remembers this, but when Lou's Irish were strugling with an inconsitent kicker he opened the tryouts to everyone on campus. Finally, Lou got a guy from the Soccer team to kick field goals for the rest of the season. Coach Berticelli was happy to have one of his soccer players kicking for the Irish.
