Where is your cottage in Pennsylvania? I am originally from Wilkes-Barre and attend at least 2 ND home games per year. I also attend any ND away game at Penn State ( State Penn ) or Pitt. My brother is also an usher at ND.

    Go Irish

Western PA, about 20-30 miles south of Erie. We just got dumped with some snow, hopefully we don’t get snowed in.

Sprout on December 31st, 2008 at 8:43 am

This must be the meeting of PA Domers. I am much closer to Wilkes Barre than Erie. I have a very serious question that I have been struggling with for about 2 weeks now…as an Irish fan from Eastern PA which team do I go for in the Rose Bowl. Obviously, I hate USC with my entire being. I want to puke everytime I see the poodle with that shit-eating grin after another blowout win against the Irish. And there is PSU, which the thought of cheering on the Lions just makes me feel dirty and sick. I have taken so much garbage from PSU fans over the years I couldn’t leave my house for a week after the 2007 game. (Embellished a little bit) Sprout, I have to tell you, Penn State fans like to talk, and talk alot. So here are my options:
    1. Cheer for USC due to my hatred of the Lions
    2. Cheer for PSU due to my hatred of the Trojans
    3. Pretend the team that is winning is ND
    4. Don’t watch the game and watch re-runs of Subway Alumni intead while drinking Yuengling (by the way, you should drink Yuengling Lager on the show to represent your fans from Easetern PA, you will love it)
    What do you think?

Irish Fan in PSU Country on December 31st, 2008 at 9:01 am

Your first three options hardly seem plausible. Trying to convince yourself that either team is the Irish? It’ll take a lot of Yuenglings to reach that level.

Your fourth option seems the safest. But something tells me you’ll watch anyway. I think I’ll pull for PSU in this one. After hearing JoePa speak at the Big Ten Kickoff this year, I realized a couple things. 1) the man is old as dirt but can still throw some pretty good insults to other teams and 2) he hates Michigan and RichRod as much as we do. That alone has earned my respect for him (not the Lions, just him) so Ill be pulling for JoePa.

Sprout on December 31st, 2008 at 9:32 am

    Hi Guys,

Love the concept and will join. But how about a tee shirt size for some of the more, shall I say, robust fellows, who need a 2x or 3x to enjoy our favorite brew in. After all, too small a size will limit consumption.

Jim McCarthy & Family on December 31st, 2008 at 9:35 am

I think your best bet is to watch the game with the sound off. That way you won’t have to hear the USC fight song or the announcers talk about how old JoePa is. And that way you’ll also be able to fully enjoy the re-runs of Subway Alumni.

Either way the case of Yuengling is a necessity, great beer.

I am an ND alum who grew up in Eastern PA near Allentown. . New to your site and got here via NDN. You guys are great and I will be a regular visitor. I am curious– I know the cabin is in Western PA, but where do you guys live? Thanks and go Irish! Next year should be fun.

Tom Gabriel on December 31st, 2008 at 9:59 am

@Jim I know, we blew it on the shirt sizes. Once we get enough of the first batch sold we will be ordering larger sizes.

@Tom Eric and I live in Chicago. Makes it pretty easy to get to Notre Dame for games.

Sprout on December 31st, 2008 at 10:35 am

Eric and Sprout, thanks for the advice. That’s why I watch Subway Alumni..for the wisdom…and to watch your cousin fall down trying to catch the self-pass. Guys have a happy new year and enjoy the beauty that is Pennsylvania. I will toast Subway Alumni this evening right after my ceremonial toasts of Family, Lou and the last Irish National Championship and the Phils winning the Series.

Wow! Glad to see the show from my old stomping grounds. I grew up in Titusville, PA. Lots of ND fans in that part of PA. You guys are lucky no one shot that deer in the intro! In that part of the country the saying goes – if its brown, its down – just glad to see that you are all still alive. Keep up the great work and let us know next time you film from the cabin – we can supply plenty of ND fans for an audience and fellow beer drinkers!

    Go Irish!

I’ve looked in on this site for the past year or so w/o comment. Just wanted to say thanks for a lot of laughs and plenty of good comments about the Irish. My Dad was a Sorin guy, but I went to public school at U.Va. (and became a lawyer like Adam) – still, I bleed Blue & Gold. Keep up the good work.

    Go Irish in 2009!

Joseph Reid on December 31st, 2008 at 12:46 pm

Seriously guys, that was awesome…First time I have been to your site. Great job! I loved the video.

John F. Klimek on December 31st, 2008 at 1:31 pm

Guys – Just saw your show for the first time. Like it !! I live in Jamestown, NY – just east of Erie and my two kids (both Domers) live in Chicago. Would love to meet up at some event at ND – or bar in Chicago, and congratulate you in person, and wish you well. Happy New Year !! Paul

Paul on December 31st, 2008 at 3:12 pm

As usual, great show. Going to miss it during the off season. Recommend to the Pangta’s that their second verse needs to, somehow, include “Gangsta” in it. Happy New Year and cheers!

    Irish73 on December 31st, 2008 at 5:39 pm

Fear not Irish73, we’re going through the off season too. We’ve got some good stuff lined up.

Sprout on December 31st, 2008 at 6:02 pm

Did I miss the inside joke somewhere this season?

    Paulis? Powlus?

We have to cheer for Penn State. They are easily the lesser of two evils.

For all of you PA folks, someone needs to send me a Primanti Brothers sandwich. I think if you specify that you’re ONLY asking for the cole slaw on the side so that it can be shipped appropriately, they won’t burn you at the stake for asking. Failing that, how about some Eat ‘n Park smiley cookies? Go Steelers!

Great show as always, gentlemen. I want a freeze-frame of your faces when that gunshot was fired.

Great episode again boys. Wanted to let you know that I got everyone’s favorite stocking stuffer this Christmas from my girlfriend, a Subway Alumni Tee.

You even gave her some Ohio Bobcat love, which is a bigger deal than you can imagine and scored me some serious points.

    Thanks for the assist.

Frommy on January 1st, 2009 at 3:58 pm

Just wanted to say I have enjoyed your shows all year and enjoy following you on Twitter. The shirts are great. I will have to get one for me and my son, who is also a fan of your site. Happy New Year from Texas.

John Peters on January 1st, 2009 at 4:10 pm

@Frommy: Great stocking stuffer from the girlfriend, she’s definitely a keeper. Hopefully your present was just as good.

    Happy New Years everyone!

Eric on January 1st, 2009 at 8:50 pm

Delighted to hear that you guys will still air during the whole year. Also, I was @ the Hawaii game, didn’t wear my SAS tee at the game, but did wear it on Xmas while drinking lava flows on the beach! FYI, I am 5′11″ and weigh about 160 lbs, and wear the XL (could go with the large) – so some of your ‘bigger’ fans might be missing out in helping you guys suck the corporate teat.

    Irish73 on January 2nd, 2009 at 8:27 am

Oh one more thing, that effin’ deer rocks, keep him on the payroll and perhaps he can make some cameos in future shows.

    Irish73 on January 2nd, 2009 at 8:29 am

i’ll start working on the second verse of the pangsta rap asap. it’ll be bomb diggity.

the original pangsta on January 3rd, 2009 at 5:17 pm

I wish I could refer to myself as “the original pangsta”. I can’t wait for verse two, we’ll probably have to have you on the show for the unveiling of it.

Eric on January 3rd, 2009 at 6:48 pm

    “We’re F*cking Good, huh?”

    Genius.
