When did you guys graduate? I’m thinking it’s time to move on.

You raise a good point, Mandick. We did receive a letter along with our diplomas stating that ‘college sports are simply for fans who are still in college, move along.’ We’ll look into it for you.

i apologize. You guys do good work

You guys are great. I have recently stumbled upon your show and it is well worth my unapproved personal break at work. I was born and raised in NC but I love ND Football. Go Irish!

As a die hard ND fan I agree with most of everything you have to say however i must ask. How do you not know the details about the blue & gold game? Have you not ever been? For me it’s like a fix on a drug that i havn’t had for 5 months and wont have again for another 4! And as far as Manti goes if he had shown up for spring practice he may have started, but i dont think he shows up in the fall and starts over S.Smith. Will he play significant minutes though? More than likely.

word just came in that i’m taking my team jersey to ND tonight. the team may be in trouble.

john on April 15th, 2009 at 7:32 am

@Brian – it’s sad but true…we’ve never been to the Blue & Gold game. My Spring weekends are usually filled with lacrosse games preventing me from going and Eric was always still in school.

Sprout on April 15th, 2009 at 7:36 am

Just so you know. I downloaded the club flyer and will take it to the bar I frequent on the weekend and basically every Saturday during football season. The manager is close friend and I will post it up. It just so happens that it is a ND friendly bar, which are few and far between in NC.

I suggest dropping plans and attending. It’s a great chance to see the younger talent on the team that you don’t typically get to see during the regular season. Hell last year I saw Lambert deliver a hit on Allen that knocked his ass out! Needless to say I’m not big on Allen after that. Big time RB’s dont let CB’s do that to them. Anyway back to my point, It’s exciting to be there and feel the buzz and watch the game!

    Hey dudes,

I actually think there is a big difference between the potential our young defensive line getting worked vs the our O line two years ago. Coaching.
Jon Tenuta with the help of corwin brown and bryant young vs John Latina.

I also blame a lot of the defensive breakdowns late in games to the damn offensive line too. Their inability to establish the run lead to a lot of 3 and outs, which lead to a lot of time spent on the field by the D…..and sometimes playing with a short field. I really think it boiled down to fatigue. I should point out that we lacked that big time pass rusher that cam collapse the pocket. That would have helped a bit. Having that run stopper and pass rusher will also make those blitzes more effective.

    Great show,

    RB

    Hey guys,
I’ve found the Magic Hat summer pack a couple times down here in Kentucky. They replaced Circus Boy with Lucky Cat in the new one. The summer beer, Wacko is delicious too, you need to pour it in a glass though, it looks crazy. It’s definitely something to look forward to.

Keep it up boys, football season is just around the corner.

    Rudy87 on April 15th, 2009 at 6:36 pm

didn’t realize the Summer packs were already out. Wacko is amazing. The coloring is natural. When we were out in Vermont for Mardi Gras, we had more than enough Wacko to turn us red. It’s great stuff.

Sprout on April 15th, 2009 at 6:44 pm

Yeah the red comes from beet juice. The summer odd notion is really good too. It’s hard to explain, but it’s a good one.

Surprised to not hear anything really about Harrison Smith at safety, making the transition back after a year at OLB. Also I think you guys misunderstood Toryan’s proposed role. He’s only looking to be MLB against run heavy personnel groups or run heavy teams, while against passing teams/passing situations Brian Smith will still play in the middle. Similar to EJ and KLM, who look like they might bump inside against passing teams and let guys like Ryan and Neal get on at DE. Of course, this is just what things look like during spring, they could change later.

BG TAILGATING IS ON!! Basically, you can get tickets at Meijer for like ~$10 and you sit anywhere you want…it’s Gen. Admission. Give me a shout because I should have an ND usher working the game who can save us some up close seats. He did it for us 2yrs ago and we sat about 5 rows up at the south goal line. I’m by myself, so just let me know where you’re going to be (Pole 13?) and see if you can save me a parking space. 2 years ago we pulled in at 9am and parked a handful of rows from the stadium, just down from the Blue Gold Illustrated tailgate. So I would expect that the Pole 13 area will be pretty much vacant at 9am.
Ask Sprout for my phone number (if he still has it) or shoot me an email and I’ll send it to you.

    I’ll bring the Scotch.

Clutch on April 15th, 2009 at 8:08 pm

    I will start at safety

Harrison Smith on April 15th, 2009 at 8:13 pm

And you should start at safety. Especially with the year you had last year.
